This education is designed to support and empower volunteers in palliative care settings. Through group activities, discussions, and resource materials, participants will deepen their understanding of palliative care principles and develop essential skills to effectively support patients with terminal illnesses.

The program focuses on enhancing communication skills for engaging with patients and families, whilst maintaining respectful boundaries when providing compassionate support. Volunteers will be provided with self-care strategies to manage their own emotional and physical well-being as they navigate the challenges of supporting patients and families coping with loss, grief and bereavement.

  1. A foundational and conceptual understanding of Palliative Care and Palliative Approach.
  2. Overview of the Volunteers Role, and how it complements the multidisciplinary team.
  3. Establishing Professional and Personal boundaries in Patient Care.
