Education overview
Module 2 builds upon the foundational concepts of palliative care and focuses on strategies to improve the quality of life and health outcomes for patients living with a life-limiting illness. Participants will explore the use of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions in symptom management.
This education emphasises the importance of advanced care planning in guiding critical conversations that align care with values, preferences and goals. Participants will learn to provide person-centred care focusing on symptom assessment and management to alleviate both physical and emotional distress.
Additionally, this module addresses the ethical and emotional aspects of palliative care, providing participants with the tools to help patients make informed, autonomous decisions throughout their illness, both before and after death.
