EDUCATION overview
After delivering a palliative approach and recognizing the stages of deterioration, an essential clinical skill is identifying when a resident's death is approaching. The process of dying can be a fearful experience for everyone involved, including staff. However, with good care and preparation, most individuals can die comfortably.

Recognising the approaching end of life is a unique and challenging experience for health professionals, families, and facility staff. Each resident contributes to the integral home environment that makes a residential aged care facility feel like a home. This session aims to empower staff to ensure that every resident, as part of the facility family, can live with dignity and comfort until the end.
